Egypt Women qualify for World Cup

August 23, 2003 - The Egyptian Women's Volleyball team booked a ticket to the 2003 World Cup in Japan in November after claiming the 14th African Nations Championship in Nairobi, Kenya on Saturday.

Egypt beat the hosts Kenya, for the second time in the tournament, in the final 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 29-27, 25-19). Both teams had earlier met in preliminary pool play, which Egypt won 3-2.

Cameroon won the bronze medal after they dismissed Algeria 3-1 (25-22, 25-16, 20-25, 25-20) in the playoff for third.
